Honestly, probably between $2500 and $5000 depending on what condition it's in and how many hours are on the outboard/kicker. It's hard to tell without a picture or link to specific info.

Why do basketball players point at someone after making a basket?

When I watch basketball on TV, I notice that after a player makes a shot the camera usually zooms in on him for a few seconds. Often, that camera shot catches him pointing at someone. I've noticed this my whole life. When I was a kid, I'd sometimes point at someone after scoring just because I thought it looked cool. But why do they do this? Why do basketball players point at someone after making a basket?
he points to the person that made the play, or gave him the assist to score. its just team support, it encourages other team members because its not all about the scoring, but the playmakers too.
Okay thanks. Now I can sleep at night! :D

Why do basketball players point at someone after making a basket?
They point to the person who set up the shot for them...

It is a way of saying "thank you"...
the person he is pointing at help make that play happen

like an assist or block or somethingWhy do basketball players point at someone after making a basket?
Well, most of them point..

But a lot of them stare and look at the defender...

It is just like sayin.. " You can't hold me ! "
they point at who helped make the play happen, such as a great pass for the assist, a great block, a great screen, etc. This is just a way of kinda passing on the credit and thanking them.
It's a way of thanking a person for a pass that was given to them. Also, if someone set them up for a shot with a pic, or a pass, then they are giving them credit for helping.

How can I watch the Spain vs China Olympic basketball highlights?

I can't stream any videos on the NBC olympic website because I live in Canada and I can't find the highlights to any basketball games anywhere else on the net. Does anyone know where I can watch the highlights other than in a couple days on youtube? I hate youtube, the quality sucks. How can I watch the Spain vs China Olympic basketball highlights?
It's not just you. In America we also can't stream it. It sucks. I have to have TiVo tape the stuff on USA and Oxegen channels. NBC carries highlights though.... the other 2 carry the WHOLE game. Of course, you could watch it live at 2 AM
Is anyone else pissed about the fact that NBC has prevented NBA v Spain highlights from being watched? This is bull$h!T!

  • What do coaches look for in a middle school basketball player in tryouts?

I am going into the 8th grade and I want to make the 8th grade basketball team really bad. Any tips and things I should/shouldn't do at tryouts. Btw I play Point guard and I know my role as a team player. What do coaches look for in a middle school basketball player in tryouts?
if your a point guard you need to be able to use both hands. Like, emphasize the BOTH hands. You also must have good "full court vision", which means find openings in the D and get it to ur man. Dont be afraid to make passes, thats the main point guards role. Dont worry about turn overs either, point guards usually do create the most turnovers. You also need to have speed and well conditioned. You also need to be able to outplay your opposing PG. Defense is also big, stay in front of your man. You should also be able to have some sort of shot. Lastly, MOVES. Work on between the legs, behind the back, and in and outs mostly. all those can be put together to fake out your defender. Dont worry if you dont get it at first, it takes a while.

Hustle and hard work is all they look for in middle school. Just show them you are putting 100% on every play. Dive for loose balls, cover defenders tight, and be smart.

What is basketball ranked on the popular sports list ?

Out of all the sports what is basketball ranked as a popular sport ?What is basketball ranked on the popular sports list ?
    its ranked 2nd behind football
    Globally..

Football (Soccer) is still the most popular Sport.

    But..

Basketball is the fastest growing Sport.

I would say Basketball is 2nd after Football and Baseball is 3rd.

You could see it in the NBA, it has become more and more 'international' over the years and more and more pre-season games are held outside the states. What is basketball ranked on the popular sports list ?
3rd or 4th. nfl, mlb, nascar, nba
In the early to mid-90's, with Michael Jordan in his peak, the Dream Team success, and the baseball strike, NBA basketball was actually the NUMBER ONE sports league in America. It also helped that celebrities liked watching it, so it glamorized the game.

But that was only temporary. Today, it is 2nd after football (maybe 3rd if you count baseball).

In the world, soccer football is number one, and basketball is number two and getting more popular.

There are some countries like Canada which prefer ice hockey, and some Commonwealth countries like India and Pakistan, which prefer cricket.

But both in the USA and worldwide, as a general rule, it is the second most popular team game after some form of football (soccer or American). What is basketball ranked on the popular sports list ?
    Depends on your defintion.

In America in terms of spectators and television ratings, football and baseball are ahead. Auto racing is pretty close to basketball in numbers, although basketball probably gets an edge simply because you have to add in college and pro.

In terms of participation, basketball certainly ranks around the top of the pack.

Worldwide, basketball probably only trails soccer in popularity. It's a cheap game that can be played virtually anywhere, inside or out.
    U.S.- Football 1st, basketball 2nd

    World- Soccer 1st basketball 2nd

What is a good training program to dunk a basketball?

I want to dunk a basketball and i can't jump that high. What is a good training program to dunk a basketball?
    just do some good workouts
go **** kobe bryantWhat is a good training program to dunk a basketball?
do stuff to strengthen your leg muscles that u use for jumping like jump roping and if u have money u can get these http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:385鈥?/a> there supposed to increase ur vertical by up to 10 inches which could be enough to make u dunk
Work with weights, i.e. squats, leg presses, leg extensions, leg curls and calf raises. Then do some plyometric drills. Remember though that vertical leaping ability is genetic or god-given. If these exercises don't work, it just means that you don't have it so you gotta accept it. Anyway, you can be a good player without being able to dunk the basketball. What is a good training program to dunk a basketball?
    plyometric drills will work.

i'm a 6 foot white boy and after working with plyos and stretching alot i got up to a 29" vert and dunk with ease.
If you really want to improve your vertical jump, first you need to figure out what type of Jumper you are, a power jumper or a leaper, as using optimal biomechanics is just as important as having explosive muscle power. Next you need to figure out what type of power or strength you are lacking. The three basic types of strength are: Base strength, transitional power, and explosiveness or "Reactive" power, they are all different and must be trained in different ways. Now I know a lot of you are wondering what's the difference between the three. Well in short Base Strength is how much weight you can move, Transitional Power is how fast you can move said weight and explosiveness is the maximum speed and distance you can move said weight with each single movement. A good Vertical Jump training routine will include the following exercises:

    Base Strength

1: Traditional Squats and Pistol Squats

    2: Deadlifts/base building olympic lifts

    3: Lunges

4: Core Work (Functional Performance Core Strength= The ability to make your pelvis and spine "lock" and work as a single stable unit, not simply having a 6 pack or being able to do 100 crunches)

    5: Stretching

    Transitional Power:

    1: Box Squats/Tempo Squats

    2: Power Cleans

    3: Push Press

    4: Core Work

    5: Stretching

    Explosiveness:

    1: Ballistic and jump squats

    2: Traditional and Compound/Hybrid Plyometrics

    3: Sprinting

    4: Core Work

    5: Stretching

You'll also want to figure out which individual muscles/muscle groups are working inefficiently. You can figure this out by completing a full vertical jump test progression and a baseline fitness test to diagnose any muscle imbalances that you may have. Remember no matter what type of training program you do you must make sure that opposing muscles are strengthened and balanced (e.g. Quads and hamstrings, abs and lower back) so don't skip the quad extensions and hamstring curls. If opposing muscles are not strengthened they will lead to weak links, energy leaks and imbalances will result in poor or slow improvement and raise the risk of injury significantly. Do a routine that combines plyomertic/bodyweight, free weight and or acceleration routines. Make sure you are consuming lots of protein to aid in muscle repair after tough workouts You'll also want to replenish your bodies ATP and glycogen stores as they are the fuel for those type IIa and type IIb muscle fibers you will be (AKA FG and FOG) shredding during your workout. In order to gain inches you'll need to tax your central nervous system and force your body to create new motor pathways. If you train correctly you should gain at least an inch a week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PxcPllTy鈥?/a>
