Does Magellan use the same map software for all of their GPS's?

Or is it different for each one? Recently, my Roadmate 1412 has been acting weird so I had to go back to using my old Roadmate 2000. The 2000 does not have an updated map.

So I would like to know if I can use the 1412's updated map on the 2000? Or would I have to get the updated map specifically for the 2000?

Thanks. Does Magellan use the same map software for all of their GPS's?
There are only TWO mapping companies out there providing maps for GPS producers. If you had two different branded GPS made around the same time, the maps would be the same.

However, your maps differ because newer GPSs come with newer maps. You will have to pay to update the old map (with Magellan that is).

Hm, that's strange.

I'm not sure.
