I had a discussion with a classmate, and he told me that having any sport such as cross country would be the same as having basketball in terms of extra curricular activities for college apps. I play varsity basketball, and It feels very degrading for someone to say such thing, because in basketball, only the best are allowed onto the team, while cross country, and other sports accept almost everyone.
What are your opinions on this?Is Basketball better considered to be the same as cross country in terms of a College's point of view?
