A friend of mine recently purchased a new 18 foot deep V Lund with a 115 hp four stroke. Although he is not new to fishing, he is new to owning a new boat like this. I have a similar boat and can recommend "stuff" to him but I'm polling the respected Yahoo! audience for their vast boating experience and two cents. My friend will be fishing mainly for walleye, bass and panfish in Michigan. What are some of the things you simply cannot live without on your boat? He'd be particularly interested in recommendations for GPS units as well as sonar units you all might recommend.
Thanks for your help with spending my friends money :)New boat equipment recommendations...?
Lund has a rail system that lets you attach accessories without drilling holes in your new boat. You can attach any thing from a fish finder to cup holder. This is a must have.
Lowrance has a new structure scan that comes with 2 fish finders and is network together. It also has a good GPS system with several options.
Also a must have is a Minn-Kota Terrova 36 volt with auto pilot. This will run all day without having to stop and recharge your batteries. It also has enough power to keep you out of trouble if the wind comes up quickly.
I do enjoy my new Lund. Here hopping you have as much enjoyment with your Lund as I am having.
