Do you think that more of America likes baseball or basketball?

I say baseball because of the history behind it and that it is America's favorite pass-time.

My friend says basketball because he is bad at baseball.Do you think that more of America likes baseball or basketball?
I believe the numbers will support baseball as having the larger fan base.
I say baseball. Baseball is a game played everyday during the spring and summer and every day you can see mostly full stadiums. Baseball is played everywhere since little league. It's been very difficult to find basketball leagues of little kids. The majority of them start competing in middle school.

I would have to say it is a tie. Basketball was interesting, until the playoff system was introduced. That made the game of basketball easy to make into the playoffs, and the playoffs last too long. The American interest in Basketball declined due to that. Also, the 7 game series of basketball made it so that the underdog has close to no chance at winning the series, but it is possible. Baseball, on the other hand has increased popularity, especially due to the surge in hispanic people immigrating to the United States. Many people would agree that the majority of Baseball Players have some Hispanic Background. But, the length of the season has turned some down, but the All Star game has made the wait bearable, and so has the introduction of the Division Series. Overall, I think both sports are tied, becuase of one's inclination, the other's declination, and the franchises in both sports. No one can compare to the Celtics and Lakers in basketball, and no one to the Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals (second most world series titles) and also The red Sox.
The average salary of a NBA player is higher than that of the average MLB player. Baseball has a rich history, yes, and I prefer it myself but based on salary and viewership the NBA wins. Probably has something to do with a growing urban population and the fact all you need to play basketball is a ball and a court. It's more accessible to the average American in that regard. Not too many baseball diamonds in the city where most of the population is.Do you think that more of America likes baseball or basketball?
well, baseball is the american pastime so of course id say baseball.



id say baseball is def a bigger market than basketball.



ask about anyone, and they almost all have a fav baseball team (if they dont really follow baseball its either the yanks or red sox). but quite a few of the people you ask will say they dont really follow basketball and the only player they know of is kobe.



plus look at all the movies made about baseball. i know theres some about basketball, but theres so many more baseball movies.
I say basketball and its for one fairly obvious reason.....



basketball allows its best players in the NBA to play in the olympics, the players require that right to be in their contracts.

Weird how much greed has consumed our country huh? Its not only tolerated, its expected that our best wont compete in international competition when it comes to the MLB....

Basketball is growing in popularity, but it's not America's pastime OR America's game (like football is).
well actually football is the favorite among americans but if youre only comparing those 2 then i would say basketball. less and less american kids are playing baseball and theyre concentrating on football and basketball.

Well Baseball stadiums are bigger and more people go to the games and the playoffs, so I would say that Baseball is favored in America.
I think baseball....it it invented by American in the 1700s, but basketball is actually invented by a Canadian.
statistics show on Tv and in person, more people watch and are fans of baseball than basketball.
