How can I improve my basketball shot?

I am pretty athletic so I get by when I play basketball with some good kids but I am not good at finishing on offense. I don't play any serious basketball but I would like to know how I can improve my shot? Form, tips, whatever you guys got.How can I improve my basketball shot?
Get used to setting yourself up for a shot. Unless you are a confident shooter, only take your shots from in and around the key. When taking a shot, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, with your knees bent. Hold the ball with your dominant hand at the back of the ball, with your knuckles near your forehead and elbow bent. This hand is where the power and the spin come from. Your other hand (in my case, left) you place on the side of the ball. This hand controls accuracy. Practice this hold on the ball - it is also the hold used for push passing. When ready to shoot. Extend your legs and jump, extending your bent elbow and pushing your right hand that was at the back of the ball forward. To put backspin on the ball, use your fingertips on your right hand to spin the ball back as you push it forward. If you get confused with what is said here, read it while watching a video of someone shooting to see what I mean. Hope this helps.

PS. This takes practice, so don't worry if it takes you a while to get the hang of it.How can I improve my basketball shot?

Practice your form. Like the way you shoot. Also do some ball handling skills. And just go outside and practice. Freestyle. Improving your basketball shot, you should shoot how its comfortable. Don't stress. Good Luck.
