I'm thirteen and during the first week of basketball practice I hurt my hamstring. I don't think I pulled it because I can still walk. Injuries commonly happen during the first few weeks because players are not in shape. Before practice you should stretch to get your blood flowing and warm-up a little. This will help you in practice and you won't get injured as easily.
