And I mean alot of weight like 25-30 pounds. And how much will gaining muscle help me in basketball?How much will losing weight help me in basketball?
Being skinny and weak won't help you at all. Focus less on losing weight and more being fit and healthy. Weight is just a number. It's how you feel that's important.How much will losing weight help me in basketball?
Gaining muscle will actually help you lose fat as well. Muscle helps you to burn calories, so increasing your lean muscle mass also increases your metabolism.



You're going to want to gain lean muscle mass for basketball, though, not getting too bulky. Do this by doing less weight with more reps (i.e. 12-15 reps), which will also help you to decrease your body fat percentage.



Here are some good exercises that actually burn a lot of calories, to, so help you to get stronger and lose body fat:



Squats

Lunges

Pull-ups (you can do these with machine assistance)



Also jump rope, it's a great cardio work-out that burns a lot of calories (and therefore fat) that also helps with your second leap ability and foot speed.

dont worry about losing weight unless u are like fat or obese or somethin..concentrate on gaining muscle, it will help u amazingly well
