What should I do to prepare for high school basketball?

Im in 7th grade, almost in 8th. I plan on playing high school basketball right away when I get in high school. What should I do to prepare starting right now? What should I do to prepare for high school basketball?
speed and ball handling. those are the two most important aspects, you simply can't beat a team that's faster than you, or a team you can't get the ball from. just run as often as you can, work on your stamina, make carrying the ball through traffic second nature to you.
get in shape and run a lot, play with people older than youWhat should I do to prepare for high school basketball?
Don't let a basketball leave your hand. Walk to the school with it, walk to the pool with it, etc. Run often. Do some light lifting. You're too young to be doing more than your body weight. Practice in gyms, outside, wherever you can. Play against people often. You need to play against people to learn. Go to basketball camps. Every opportunity is a chance to learn and get better at the game.

And my favorite, watch old school players. ESPN Classic.
practice, practice and practice,,also set up cone in your driveway and do some speed dribblingWhat should I do to prepare for high school basketball?
I would start hitting the weights, when you get in high school a lot of kids leave that out and are not as strong. Be in good shape, map out a plan that works for you. Run as much as you can because you want to be in the best shape you can because the difference from middle school to high school is a big change. I would sit down make a list of things that you want to accomplish and just do them. I always ran in the morning and did my work out in the afternoon. Just make sure and do it at least 3-4 times a week. Good luck!!!
You should first start out by getting in shape. Conditioning (running) for basketball can be very tough, especially if your not in shape. Lift weights, exercise and run to help your body grow stronger so you won't have a hard time when you try out. The coach's will look for the person with the most desire for the game and physical capability to last throughout tough games.
RUN RU RUN RUN RUN

maybe run cross country in the fall or join some type of track team for endurance
You should start running to build up your stamina. Start out slowly maybe a mile every other day and gradually increase. Also do a lot of ballhandling drills using both hands which will give you a heads on a lot of kids since, at that age most of them can't handle the ball with both hands. Work on those basics first and then evrything else will fall into place.
drink milk
work out practice, practice, practice.

also try doin jogs around the block.

praactice free throws, 3s, and get ankle weights so u cn jump higher.
